Registration

Registration for St. Mary Early Learning Center begins the first week in February every year. When registering your child for the upcoming school year, a completed registration form (print a registration form) and the corresponding, non-refundable registration fee should be brought to the ELC office. Student vacancies will be filled in the order in which applications are received giving priority to children currently enrolled in the program and children of active St. Mary Church parishioners (parents must be members for at least 6 months prior to registration).

Tuition and Fee Schedule

TAKE CAREFUL NOTE:

All fees for 2012-2013 are listed below. Please take careful note of the following clarifications and deadlines, marking the dates on your personal calendars:

1. REGISTRATION PRIORITIES: In-house Registration is January 30 – February 3; Sibling Registration is February 6 – 10. Registration for St. Mary Parishioners (not yet registered) is February 6 – 10. Failure to register at these times may result in the lost of Priority Status. Registration for Out of Parish Families (not yet registered) begins February 13.

2. REGISTRATION FEES are due when registering.

3. MATERIALS FEES are due June 1, 2012.

4. CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS / BUILDING USE FEE will be assessed to Out of Parish Families (i.e., families who do not present a completed Parishioner Verification Form signed by the pastor of St. Mary Parish).

5. AUGUST TUITION and CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS / BUILDING USE FEES (or Parishioner Verification Forms) are due August 1, 2012.

*$50.00 of the Registration Fee will be paid by St. Mary Parish for St. Mary Parishioners who submit, when registering, a 2012-2013 parishioner Verification Form signed by the pastor. Fr. Trahan requests that appointments be made by email (pastor@stmarych.com) to request his signature.

Curriculum
The curriculum focus at St. Mary ELC is on providing experiences for children that stimulate learning in all developmental areas - spiritual, physical, social, emotional and intellectual. Interactions and activities are designed to develop children's self-esteem and positive feelings toward learning.

Christian attitudes of loving, helping and sharing are developed with an awareness that God has made each child very special. Children are encouraged to develop a relationship with a loving God in all activities undertaken. Meaningful experiences are provided to develop language, listening skills, and a love of literature. Logical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and number readiness are nurtured using cognitive developmental practices. Children are given daily opportunities for aesthetic expression and appreciation through art and music. Gross motor and fine motor skill development is enhanced by providing a wide variety of equipment and materials for children to practice skills.

2 year-old Program
All 2 year-old's take part in Church liturgies, Christmas program and May program/Mother's Tea

• Religion - "Hands-On" Bible Curriculum are songs based on religious stories
• Art - Movement and Crafts for motor development
• Readiness - Developing beginners problem-solving skills, number-counting through finger play, songs and activities
• Literature Based Curriculum - Nursery Rhymes, Seasons, Holidays, Animals, Plants & Insects

3 year-old Program
All 3 year-old's take part in Church liturgies, Christmas program and May program/Mother's Tea. The 3 year-old teachers use an integrated approach based on thematic units.

• Math - based on "Math Their Way" series
• Religion - "Hands on Bible" curriculum
• Music - daily music fun

Subject Matter (ex: transportation) is studied through various language, math and social living skills methods (ex: literature activities, theatre, mathematical solutions, construction projects, movement activities, art projects)

4 year-old Program
All 4 year-old's take part in Church liturgies, Christmas program and May program/Mother's Tea.

• Phonics Series by Sadler Publishing, "Getting Ready with Mother Goose" and ITL Phonics Program
• Religion- various religious programs
• Art - various seasonal art projects covering color, shape, texture
• Music - various musical studies
• Math - sorting, counting, classification, estimation, sequencing, money
• Literature - enriching story books
